Reboot 2016, first edition of the annual conference for IT professionals, concluded in Kozhikode. Techies from Calicut and outside attended. An initiative by Calicut Forum For IT (CAFIT) in association with Nasscom and Cyberpark, Reboot 2016 was one of the largest gatherings of IT professionals to take place in Malabar.Nearly 300 delegates who attended the conference ranged from company founders and college professors to freelance developers and students.
Event started off with an inaugural address by CAFIT president Bijith Ahmed about the relevance of Reboot in making Kozhikode a world-class IT destination.
Amit Mannan, director of R&D at Samsung, was the keynote speaker. He started the general sessions with his take on ‘Future of Mobile Communication’. Apart from general sessions, two parallel workshops for Internet of Things (IoT) and Golang programming language made the conference even more active. Ajith Kumar, CEO of Cyberpark, expressed his happiness to see the gathering and talked about the importance of collaboration between IT companies and infrastructure providers to build a better IT ecosystem.
“Reboot 2016 might have just marked the beginning of an era of IT development in Calicut. This level of participation which clearly surpassed the expectations is a clear indication of the hidden potential of IT professionals in Malabar region, which is, of course, yet to be fully leveraged.”-said the organizers.
