‘Rising Kerala’ launched in Calicut
A state level industry lead summit; Rising Kerala was launched in Calicut. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy inaugurated the program.
The CM said Kerala was witnessing a silent revolution in industrial growth with the emergence of new start-ups by youngsters, especially by student entrepreneurs.
He said that Kozhikode should be a role model in Kerala, citing instance from the success story of footwear industry.
The government had expected just 1000 companies in ten years, as start -ups by students. However, the turn up reached 777 companies in just two years. These kind of opportunities should be utilised-he said.
Industries minister P.K.Kunhalikkutty presided over the function.
Dr.Saji Gopinath, Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Management -Kozhikode, Kerala Financial Corporation Chairman and Managing Director P.Joy Oommen spoke. Kerala Small Industries Association (KSSIA) Kozhikode district secretary Yogesh welcomed the gathering and Vice President P.M.A Gafoor expressed vote of thanks.
Leading entrepreneurs took part in the event, held at Hotel Taj Gateway . Experts participated in the discussions on various trade-related issues.
