Santhosh Sivan launches photojournalism course at Media Academy

Victor George’s photos had enjoyment value and creative excellence,opined film maker and cinematographer Santhosh Sivan.He was delivering the key note address on the occasion of Victor George commemoration at Kerala Media Academy.Determination and motivation help to give the energy to work honestly,he added.

News sense,fearlessness,dedication to the job are the elements that made Victor George’s photos, excellent. Even if have many modern cameras, human eye is the best camera.

Changes taken place in the digital era is inevitable-he said.Sharp observation is essential to get a different frame in photography- Santhosh Sivan said.

He also inaugurated photo journalism course. Media Academy chairman R.S.Babu presided over the function.

 
Victor George is a textbook who taught us how a photographer should be,said Academy general council member and Manorama Assistant News Editor M.K.Kuriakose.
Victor George maintained the same spirit of a fresher every time. The beauty of his photographs stood as truth.
Victor utilised the available chances even at a time of limited technical advancement. He always showed a dedication to his profession.He found out a different angle in every photo shoot.
Media Academy chairman R.S Babu said photography had a great space in the digital era.
Nick Ut could change the attitude of imperialist forces with a single photographer-he added.
Ernakulam Press Club president D,Dileep,Academy Council member Deepka Dharmadom,Media Aacdemy secretary in charge P.C.Suresh Kumar,Institute of Communication Director M.Sankar,course co-ordinator Leen Thobias spoke on the occasion.
