SBI Tenhipalam Branch staff’s irresponsible deal put one of the Calicut University top officials in strain.It happened on January 22.M.K. Pramod,Joint Registrar of Examinations withdrew Rs.30,000 in his account at the ATM of SBI Tenhippalam,However,when he checked mini statement of his bank account,he shocked to know that Rs.60,000 was withdrawn from his account the same day.
Instantly,he contacted the bank officials concerned.
The bank officials said it was the result of a server error and the excess amount would be credited to his account within few hours.
When the university official contacted the bank several times after the incident,he didn’t get any positive reply from the authority.
Finally,he started a sit-in protest in front of the university on January 25. Many of his subordinates and staff organisation leaders and political party leaders came forward,questioning the red-tapism of the leading nationalised bank,the bank officials realised the seriousness of the issue.
Later,the bank manager had a discussion with Pramod and released his lost amount immediately.
There are many such reported cases against the bureaucratic show-offs of the bank,earlier also.
