St.Michael’s students set a model for cleanliness drive beyond campus
The students of St.Michael’s Girl’s Higher Secondary school initiated a cleanliness drive,spreading a message of the importance of keeping our environment, clean.
Usually, they used to clean school premises during cleanliness week observation.But,today they came outside the campus in small groups and made their city outskirts clean within few hours.
They started their work after lunch break.While senior students engage in roadside cleaning,small kids confined to make their class rooms and school compound neat and beautiful.
The student army collected plastic wastes separately and dumped into waste box ,installed by the city corporation.All other wastes have been disposed properly in their school premises,using the routine system.
Most of them took part so enthusiastically,with their teachers and school heads guiding them, accordingly.
” We want to spread a message of making our surroundings clean.We have got immense support from all students.This is first time we take up this cause, massively,outside the campus.”says A.Anagha,school leader and plus one science student.
“It is a good experience .”-says Nikhitha another plus one student.
“Our campus is already a plastic free zone.This time we spread our activities outside our campus.”-says Sister Sujaya,Headmistress.
Sister Jayaseela,principal says this measure has become a success with the support of whole student community from lower primary to
secondary.And they are giving a good message to the whole society.
These students also carried placards challenging near by schools to take similar activities
