Top Malayalam story writer T.Padmanabhan has been selected for Vagbadananda award,instituted by the Uralungal Labour Contractors Co-operative Society.
“Padmanabhan has contributed immensely to the Malayalam literature.”
“Love towards men and nature is the undercurrent of Padmanabhan’s stories.”
“His stories are enlightening hymens and always guard the dignity of manhood.”
His stories like Prakasham Parathunna Penkutty ( ”The girl who spreads light” ).One can’t find a negative character.
The award carries Rupees 1,oooo1,certificate and citation.
“This writer spearheaded the values of secular values and fought against fascism.”
As a priest commented , Padmanabhan’s story is prayer of the soul.”- said Uralungal officials in a press meet, held at Calicut Press Club today.
The jury members were poet Prabha Varma,Alankode Leelakrishnan,and Parvathi Devi.
Kerala Chief Minsiter Pinrayi Vijayan will present the award on 19,November at a function to be held at Tagore Centenary Hall in Kozhikode.
