The action of ICHR in omitting Nehru’s name is objectionable – K. Babu MLA

  • CNM Reporter

Congress Deputy Leader of the Opposition K Babu MLA said the move by the Indian Council of Historical Research (ICHR) to oust Jawaharlal Nehru in Azadi Ki Amrit Mahotsav poster  is cheap and ridiculous. The move comes after the Center decided to remove 387 leaders from the list of martyrs of India’s freedom struggle, including Wariamkunnath Kunhahammad Haji and Ali Musaliar, who took part in the Malabar riots. K Babu said that this was part of a fascist conspiracy-he said.
Those who did this should understand that Nehru is not a name that can be erased from the history of the freedom struggle. Nehru was replaced by Savarkar, who was pardoned by the British and released from the Andaman prison. He said it was clear that the central government was trying to erase the names of the freedom fighters and add the names of the Sangh Parivar members there.
The people are well aware of the Sangh Parivar’s hostility to Nehru.
The history of India is absolutely incomplete without the inclusion of Jawaharlal Nehru, who played a pivotal role in the freedom struggle and the building of a strong post-independence nation. K. Babu said that it was only the delusion of the fascist regime that he could be hailed as one of the greatest leaders the world has ever seen-Babu said in statement.
