“Try to create equality in society”-Meena Kandasamy
Writers should try to re-define language and make a world with equality,opined Meena Kandasamy,writer and social activist.
She was inaugurating the South Indian women writer’s get-together at Thunchath Ezuthachan Malayalam University on Wednesday.
Writing is an activity which demands loneliness.However, a writer can be established only after travelling through many obstacles.”The society has a fallacy that women writers are unable to write serious topics.” “There were occasion by misinterpreting my poems and harassing me.”-she said.
Vice Chancellor K.Jaya Kumar presided over the function.
P.Valsala delivered the key note address.She said she had written stories by hiding as one do while writing a love letter.Each and every situations will contribute threads for writing.”Travelling and reading helped me to became a writer”-she said.
Women alone can bring changes into the society.The backwardness of women is the reason of India’s backwardness-P.Valsala opined.
Writers Sara Jospeh,P. Geetha, Khadeeja Mumtaz,O.V.Usha are among the writers who will attend a panel discussion on January 21.This will be followed by a dance-eve by Pallavi Krishnan.The program will conclude on 22 . Chandramathy will inaugurate the valedictory function.
