Uttarakhand quits volley match;debarred
Uttarakhand men’s players boycotted the opening volley ball B match with Rajasthan today in protest against , ONGC being disqualified in the upcoming National Volleyball Championship in Pathanamthitta .
Majority of the Uttarakhand players belong to ONGC.
They entered in the court and refused to play in a dramatic manner.Later, the team has been de barred from the national games by the Volleyball Federation of India (VFI)
According to Utharakhand players ,they have been sidelined by the Volley Ball Federation of India.
However,VFI authorities clarified that it was an unfortunate event that Uttarakahand withdrew from the match .
“They have planned such a move for black mailing. They are using all facilities of the National Games and boycott at last moment. This is unfair.”-says Ramavtar Singh Jakhar.
He added that the selection for the National volleyball championship is purely on merit.
Meanwhile Utharakhand players say that they had performed well in national level; during last volley ball games and other teams who underperformed got entry.
But ,this argument has been denied by VFI authorities.
Uttarakhand players say that they spoke for all the players who were denied chances.
When Uttarakhand players refused Rajasthan got an easy walk-over to next level of the match.
