World Environment Day-Tie-up with National Rural Employment Guarantee Act; Calicut University to plant 10k more saplings
The University of Calicut has launched a tie-up scheme with the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (Thozhilurappu) ,in association with Pallickal Panchayath to plant 10 thousand more tree saplings in the campus.CU Vice Chancellor Dr.K.Muhammad Basheer inaugurated the project.
Calicut University Vice Chancellor Dr.K.Muhammad Basheer inagurated the plantation of tree saplings at the campus,in association with Pallickal Grama Panchayath.
Workers belong to the National Rural Employment Guarantee Act would maintain the saplings.The VC said it was a happy thing that most of the saplings,planted in the last year ,jointly by the students and workers of NREGA were well-maintained.
Mahagony,jackfruit,mango,tamarind were among the popular tree saplings,planted,today.
Pro-Vice Chancellor Dr.P.Mohanan,Registrar Dr.T.Abdul Majeed,Dr.John E.Thoppil,Kondotty Block Panchyath president Fathima Mankkod,secretary Hameeda Jaleesa,Pallickal Grama Panchayath president P.Midhuna,M.Abdul Khader,Sharafunnisa,Shabeera were among the key persons ,participated in the program.
