Youth Congress march turns violent

Youth Congress march,organized against the state ministers’ alleged underworld nexus turned violent at Kozhikode Collectorate. Many activists have been injured in police action.The police used grenades also.

 

KPCC general secretary K Praveen Kumar said that the Youth Congress leaders and activists would not back down from the agitation if the police threatened them.
He was inaugurating the march in front of the Kozhikode Collectorate which started from Eranhipalam demanding the resignation of the Pinarayi government.

The state government as a whole is under the surveillance of the NIA. The ministers remain in office to head the commission. He also said that Kodiyeri was justifying Minister Jalil by sitting in the post of CPM secretary due to lack of dignity. Youth Congress district president R Shahin presided over the function. Youth Congress National Secretary Vidya Balakrishnan, State office bearers  M Dhanish Lal, PK Ragesh, VP Dulkhifil, O Saranya, DCC General Secretary Ramesh Nambiath, PP Nowshir, Jaisal Atholi, District General Secretary Baweesh Chelannoor and KSU district president VT Nihal spoke.

The police used four grenades at the march. Kuruvattur constituency president Riyas Kuruvattur and Shajeer Cheruvannoor were injured in the grenade blast. 

The injured were admitted to a private hospital in Kozhikode.
